Course Description
Learners will take part in a thought-provoking discussion on gang exit strategies, as well as having the opportunity to raise their own concerns related to their practice.
The training aims to enable learners to:
- Understand a range of different theoretical concepts around desistance.
- Identify some of challenges faced by young people on the periphery or of those directly involved street gangs.
- Explore the role of young women, the differences, and the challenges they face in exiting street gangs.
- Examine the concept of ‘phasing out’ and how to apply this when engaging young people at different levels of gang membership.
- Identify available support and resources for young people in your area.
